About ROE The Rubato Ocarina Ensemble (ROE) founded on October 2006 by Ms Ro-Yi-Chen, a famous ocarina musician and teacher, in Taiwan. Rubato is a musical term, which means freely, and which is also the performance style of ROE. The ensemble’s goal is to cultivate a wide variety of musical talent. ROE has its mission to promote the art of ocarina music and Taiwanese culture overseas. All the members are from different professional areas but with the same sense and love to music. The ROE is an independent ocarina ensemble. All budgets and supports are come from its own members. ROE devoted to introduce Taiwan’s ocarina arts and culture to every corner of the world and has international attraction. ROE also devotes to the research and development to the ocarina music, combines visual arts and performing arts, and brings the joy of music to every participant in its performances. Until now, ROE has given more than 40 performances and has launched some educating programs in Taiwan. ROE’s music activities mostly at Taipei city and now has many connection of overseas, such as Europe, Japan and Korea. The ROE staged its first concert in 2006 and over the years has gained renown for its fresh interpretations of classical music and Taiwanese folk songs. The first concert also inspired ROE to an idea of holding regular annual concert. Now ROE has an annual concert on December of every year. At present, ROE is one of the famous ocarina ensembles in Taiwan. ROE will continue to build an extensive repertoire from classical to contemporary music, as well as commission and premier works devoted to promoting music of Taiwanese. The ROE will explore various elements to further enrich its performances as well as carry out its mission and be the excellent ocarina ensemble in the world. |
